BREAKING: Tim Scott Commits to Signing the Most Extreme National Abortion Ban Possible

Just hours after giving three different answers on his anti-choice agenda, Tim Scott has made his position crystal clear: If Scott was president, he’d sign the most extreme abortion ban possible. No matter how many different national abortion bans Scott supports, he’ll continue using his extreme anti-choice agenda to try to out-MAGA the rest of the 2024 field.

Since jumping into the 2024 GOP primary race, Tim Scott has hit the ground running to try to out-MAGA the rest of the Republican field by saying he’d sign the most restrictive national abortion ban he could.

MSNBC: “Is six weeks the right mile marker?”

Tim Scott: “The people have decided that their elected leaders have the opportunity to do so, so I say absolutelyIf I were president of the United States, I would literally sign the most conservative pro-life legislation that they can get through Congress.

Fox News: “Republican Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina said there’s ‘no question’ he would support a 20-week federal ban on abortion and would potentially consider a 15-week limit.”

But this should come as no surprise – Tim Scott has repeatedly co-sponsored and supported the Life at Conception Act, which could ban abortion nationwide and jeopardize forms of birth control including Plan B.

Congress.gov: S.231 – Life At Conception Act Of 2017, 115th Congress, 1/24/17 [Tim Scott, co-sponsor]

Congress.gov: S.159 – Life At Conception Act Of 2019, 116th Congress, 1/16/19 [Tim Scott, co-sponsor]

Congress.gov: S.99 – Life At Conception Act Of 2021, 117th Congress, 1/28/21 [Tim Scott, co-sponsor]

Scott has also co-sponsored a national abortion ban that could threaten doctors with jail time.

Congress.gov: S.3275 – Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act Of 2020, 116th Congress, 2/11/20 [Tim Scott, co-sponsor]

PolitiFact: “45 Republicans in the U.S. Senate sponsored or co-sponsered the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, that would impose a prison sentence of up to five years.”

It’s no wonder that Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America – an extreme anti-abortion group Scott has cozied up with before and that is calling on 2024 Republicans to endorse a national ban – immediately jumped on the opportunity to share their excitement about Scott’s anti-choice agenda.

SBA Pro-Life America: “We welcome Tim Scott outlining his pro-life vision and policy platform in the new Dobbs era as the primary election unfolds.”

The Independent: “A handful of GOP lawmakers were guests of honour at an event hosted by Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, an anti-abortion nonprofit organisation named after the famous (and staunchly religious) women’s rights activist. Among those who attended were both of South Carolina’s US senators, Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham.”

Washington Post: “Leading antiabortion groups, fresh off their historic victory with the demise of Roe v. Wade, are drawing up plans for a new goal in the 2024 presidential election: Ensuring the Republican nominee promises to back nationwide restrictions on abortion. One of the most influential groups, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, is likely to ask candidates to sign a pledge supporting a federal minimum limit on abortion at no later than 15 weeks of pregnancy.”

CNN: “Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser declared in a call with reporters in January that any Republican who doesn’t back a federal abortion ban or restrictions that moved toward one has ‘disqualified him or herself as a presidential candidate in our eyes.’”
