Burgum’s MAGA Economic Agenda Would Hurt Working Families

Doug Burgum is running on the same extreme MAGA economic agenda as the rest of the field: one that would rig the economy for the ultra-wealthy and big corporations at the expense of America’s middle class.

Burgum has long been a cheerleader for the MAGA economics of Trump’s tax scam, which gave a windfall to corporations and the wealthy.

Burgum: “Our state has built a strong and growing economy on reducing individual and corporate income tax rates, common-sense regulations and a business-friendly environment, and this federal tax reform legislation – combined with the Trump administration’s tremendous progress in rolling back burdensome regulations – will spread those principles nationwide.”

Now, Burgum supports repealing the Inflation Reduction Act, the legislative achievement secured by President Biden and Democrats that helps Americans facing high costs while ensuring that big corporations begin to pay their fair share.

Burgum on whether he would push to repeal the IRA: “Yeah.”

While UAW members fight for fair wages and better working conditions, Burgum encouraged autoworkers not to join unions.

Burgum: “I mean, we’ve got auto companies in this country that are non-unionized, and they’re not on strike and their workers are happy… you can look all over America at new auto plants where there are non-union workers. They’re happy. They’ve got great work. They got great benefits. They love their communities. So it can work both ways in our country.”
