Democrat Keishan Scott Secures Sweeping Victory in South Carolina House Special Election

Tonight, the DNC congratulates Democratic candidate Keishan Scott on his landslide victory in the South Carolina House District 50 race. Scott’s victory adds another 2025 special election victory to Democrats’ scoreboard and extends our overperformance streak to include a whopping 24 elections in 2025.

Over and over again, Democrats are overperforming and winning in blue, red, and purple states as voters take a stand against Trump and MAGA Republicans’ extremism at the ballot box. While Republicans’ deeply unpopular, losing agenda continues to cost them elections, Democrats everywhere are organizing and building at the local level as we plot our path towards winning in 2025, the midterms in 2026, and the presidency in 2028.

In response to Scott’s sweeping victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

“Congratulations to Keishan Scott on his landslide victory and massive overperformance tonight in South Carolina. Tonight’s results are a reminder that voters are siding with strong Democratic leaders who will advance their communities, protect their rights, and fight for working families across the country. As long as Trump and MAGA Republicans peddle an out-of-touch agenda that puts billionaires’ interests first and takes away health care from millions of Americans, they will continue to sink and lose. When we organize everywhere, we can compete anywhere and ensure voters have a strong Democratic Party in their corner that can secure election victories for years to come.”
