DeSantis’s Administration Admits His Political Stunt Could Put 30,000 Disadvantaged Children At Risk

Today, Florida’s surgeon general admitted Ron DeSantis’s decision to block vaccines for young children could put 30,000 disadvantaged children at risk.

FIRST: Ron DeSantis was the only governor in the country to refuse to pre-order vaccines for children under 5.

Miami Herald: “‘We are devastated.’ Doctors angry over DeSantis not ordering COVID vaccines for young kids”

The Hill: “DeSantis: Florida won’t provide state resources for giving COVID shots to kids under 5”

Naples Daily News: “Florida hospitals, physicians scramble as DeSantis opts out of vaccine order for young kids”

NOW: Ron DeSantis’s own administration says his actions could put over 30,000 disadvantaged children at risk.

CBS News: “’Ladapo confirmed in the release approximately ‘3% of the more than 1.1 million children under five who live in Florida receive their primary care at county health departments.’ This leaves 33,000 young children in FL without access to the vaccine at their primary point of care.”
