“On the seventy-sixth anniversary of D-Day, we honor the American and Allied soldiers who crashed the Normandy Beaches in the fight to defeat the Nazis. We salute those who risked their lives to defend what was right, who weathered bombs and bullets to ensure freedom’s survival. And we remember the fallen heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice on those shores for the promise of peace. Today and every day, we are indebted to their courage. And we must continue to show our gratitude for their service by making sure we treat our veterans and our warriors in uniform with the dignity they deserve.”
