DNC Chair Ken Martin joined DNC Secretary Jason Rae and DNC LGBTQ+ Caucus Chair Sean Meloy in releasing the following statement on Transgender Day of Visibility:

“On Transgender Day of Visibility we celebrate the transgender and nonbinary community while also honoring those who have been victims of violence and cruelty for who they are. The freedom to be yourself is fundamental to who we are as Americans. 

“That is why today, Democrats reaffirm our unconditional commitment to standing with the transgender community. We cannot — and will not — accept a society where Donald Trump and his Republican enablers seek to strip away rights, eliminate protections, and deny the basic humanity of transgender Americans.”
