In response to reports that Donald Trump is second-guessing U.S. support for Juan Guaidó and willing to meet with Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement: 

“While Maduro’s humanitarian crisis rages on in Venezuela, Trump has once again cozied up to a brutal dictator and turned his back on the Venezuelan people. His inept foreign policy undermines the work of our allies, and reveals his dangerous admiration for dictators, authoritarians, and caudillos. Voters in Florida, many of whom fled dictatorships, and across the country are sick and tired of the chaos, incompetence, and selfishness of this administration. They want a president who will champion democracy and human rights. They want Joe Biden.
