DNC Chair Statement on 108th Anniversary of the Founding of the NAACP
February 12, 2017
WASHINGTON – DNC Interim Chair Donna Brazile released the following statement:
“For more than a century, the NAACP has remained dedicated the cause of ending racial discrimination and securing the promise of equality for all. From the fight against Jim Crow to the ongoing battle for universal access to the ballot, the leaders, members and friends of NAACP have always stood strong against the powerful forces of institutional racism and fought with an unrelenting passion to open the vaults of opportunity for all Americans.
“As we celebrate the anniversary of its founding today and all the progress we’ve made as a nation, we must also rededicate ourselves to its lofty aim: building a society in which all individuals, regardless of their race, have equal rights – politically, socially and economically.”
