DNC Chair Statement on Veterans Day
November 11, 2015
WASHINGTON, DC – DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the following statement on Veterans Day 2015:
“On this Veterans Day I join Americans across the country in honoring and thanking veterans and their families for their service and their sacrifice.
“Taking a step back and putting our patriots before our politics is something we should do every day, and regardless of political party we should all work together to ensure our veterans get the respect and appreciation they deserve, the benefits they've earned, and the medical care we owe them.
“We put our best foot forward as a nation when we come together to help our veterans find jobs, access education and training opportunities, and secure housing and health services. We've made important strides in each of these areas but there's more to be done. We have an obligation to ensure that veterans have the support they need to be as successful in civilian life here at home as they have been defending our nation and promoting our values and ideals abroad.”
