DNC Chair Statement: Trump Brings Broken Promises Tour to Michigan

WASHINGTON –DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement as Trump returns to Michigan with nothing more than broken promises on TrumpCare to show after more than 50 days in office:

“It’s clear now that Donald Trump was lying when he promised every family in Michigan would have less expensive but better health care. TrumpCare will cause thousands of working families and older Americans to lose their insurance, including many of the 637,000 Michiganders who qualified for coverage under the Affordable Care Act’s Medicaid expansion. This broken promise may not mean much to Donald Trump – but it’s a matter of life and death to many of the hardworking families depending keeping their health insurance.”

“When Keith and I travel to Michigan next week, we’ll sit down with the very people Trump is kicking to the curb in favor of the big insurance companies and his friends on Wall Street. Because when it comes to protecting the 24 million Americans who will go without health care or standing up for America’s workers, the Democratic Party takes a backseat to nobody.”
