In commemoration of Veterans Day, DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement:

“Our nation has long taken pride in the brave Americans who serve selflessly in our armed forces, the finest fighting force on the planet. Whether serving in combat zones and strategic posts overseas, or right here at home, our protectors embody the best qualities of our nation. In a time when our politics are often divided, our military and its veterans always stand as a reminder that there is far more that unites us than divides us, and that our shared values as Americans must be preserved.

“Members of our armed services come from all walks of life. No matter their race, creed, or color, they serve shoulder to shoulder with their brothers and sisters in arms to ensure our safety and security.

“This Veterans Day, Democrats are proud to honor our nation’s veterans and Gold Star families. We are especially grateful for those veterans who have chosen to continue living lives in service to their communities by running for public office last week. And we will continue fighting to guarantee that all veterans have access to the high-quality health care that they have more than earned.”
