Washington, DC – DNC Chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the following statement today in recognition of Memorial Day:
 
“On Memorial Day, we honor those who, as President Lincoln observed, gave the ‘last full measure of devotion.’ Our words can never repay the debt we owe the men and women who gave their lives in service of our country. We can only hope to live up to the values and ideals they embodied.
 
“We also extend our support and gratitude to the loved ones and communities they left behind. Each of the freedoms that we enjoy as Americans exists because of their ultimate sacrifice. Today is our day to show them they are not, and never will be, forgotten.”
