DNC Congratulates Nominees in New York’s Democratic Federal Primary Elections

DNC Chair Tom Perez and DNC Vice Chairs Michael Blake and Grace Meng released the following joint statement on the results of tonight’s federal Democratic primary races in New York:

“The DNC is proud to congratulate the winners of tonight’s Democratic primary races in New York. New York voters know that Democrats have their backs and share their values, and we know the Empire State is ready to organize to turn more seats blue in November.

“Across New York, an exciting slate of Democratic candidates were nominated who have the opportunity to flip Republican-held districts from red to blue, including Perry Gershon in NY-01, Max Rose in NY-11, Antonio Delgado in NY-19, Anthony Brindisi in NY-22, and Dana Balter in NY-24.

“In NY-14, we are proud to congratulate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on her victory tonight. She represents an important voice in our party and the next generation of Democratic leaders. She is an inspiration, and we know she will be a tireless fighter for working families in the Bronx. We will always be grateful for the longtime service that Joe Crowley has provided to Queens, the Bronx, and our entire country. For nearly twenty years, he has been a tireless advocate for New York in Congress.

“Along with tonight’s new nominees, the DNC is ready to hit the ground running to organize to elect Democrats across New York state in 2018.”
