The DNC congratulates Randy Villegas on advancing to the general election for California’s 22nd Congressional District — a critical race that will help flip the House of Representatives in November. Democratic voters throughout California have once again turned out in numbers that demonstrate they understand the stakes of this moment. 

In response to Randy Villegas advancing to the general election, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement: 

“From his time in the classroom to his work as an organizer, Randy Villegas has consistently served his community and fought for families throughout the Central Valley. While David Valadao takes affordable healthcare away from Californians and backs this president’s extreme policies that are hammering the Central Valley, Randy has a proven track record of organizing to win progress at the local and state level. As an educator who grew up in a working-class family, he knows how important it is to have leaders who expand healthcare, lower costs, protect public education, cut taxes for working families, and support farmers and producers. The DNC is ready to help Randy flip this seat from red to blue, take back the House, and deliver for communities across California.”
