DNC Launches New Ads to Kick Off Defend Choice Week of Action

Week of action will include events in states across the country and comes following the DNC’s launch of www.DefendChoice.org to connect volunteers to organizing opportunities in all 50 states

The DNC today is launching a Defend Choice Week of Action that will run from July 12-19 to mobilize supporters and engage voters across the country to call out Republicans for opposing abortion rights, highlight what is at stake in November, and organize in all 50 states to elect Democrats up and down the ballot as the backstop to protecting abortion rights.

To kick off the week of action, the DNC is launching digital display ads promoting DefendChoice.org on the websites for over 20 lifestyle publications, including Teen Vogue, Refinery29, Glamour, The Cut, Bustle, In Style, The Everygirl, HelloGiggles, Cup of Jo, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Women’s Health, Allure, Essence, Latina, GQ, Rolling Stone, The Ringer, Men’s Health, Men’s Journal, and Esquire. These ads come as part of a broader six-figure ad campaign the DNC is launching this week and on top of additional digital ads launched last week across battleground states.

See below for the display ads launching today:

“With so much at stake, the DNC has been working tirelessly with state Democratic parties, candidates, and other partners in all 50 states to make sure voters know that Republicans want to make abortion illegal – and that organizing ahead of November is the best way to stop them,” said DNC Chair Jaime Harrison. “With this Defend Choice Week of Action, we’re giving people across the country a chance to turn their anger into action by holding anti-choice Republicans accountable and helping to elect Democrats.”

As part of this week of action, the DNC will also hold a volunteer kick-off event coordinated by the DNC’s national distributed organizing team, encourage volunteers and supporters to sign up for call and text shifts to reach out to voters in key battleground states, host friendbanks and community service oriented events to help supporters across the country get involved in their communities, work with coordinated campaigns and state parties across the country to hold organizing events to mobilize volunteers and engage new supporters and partner with the DSCC to hold press events across competitive battlegrounds.

The Defend Choice Week of Action comes after the DNC, DSCC, and DCCC launched www.DefendChoice.org – an online hub where volunteers can easily connect with the coordinated field campaign in their state, sign up to make calls or send texts through Democrats’ national distributed organizing program, and share their own personal story about the importance of protecting reproductive rights. Since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade last month, the DNC has also launched an extended “MAGA Hot Mic” campaign, launched a series of digital ads, and worked with state parties to organize press events calling out Republicans’ extreme MAGA agenda.
