WASHINGTON  — DNC Senior Adviser Zac Petkanas issued the following statement after former Trump Transition Member (and Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee) Devin Nunes inexplicably canceled Tuesday’s public hearing regarding potential Russian collusion with the Trump team:
 
“Former Trump transition member Nunes’ outrageous decision to cancel next week’s public hearing raises even more concerns about his independence and suspicions about what he’s trying to hide.  Nunes has proven he’s more interested in protecting Donald Trump than getting at the truth as evidenced by his coordination with the White House both pushing back on media stories and discussing elements of the investigation without notifying fellow committee members.
 
“A White House stooge cannot be expected to run the kind of independent investigation demanded by the American people following an attack on our republic by a hostile foreign power.  We must form an independent commission and appoint a special prosecutor immediately.”
