DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after airports around the U.S. began halting or delaying flights due to staffing issues caused by President Trump’s government shutdown:

“Trump’s shutdown needs to end now. When our air traffic shuts down, the damage to our economy is enormous, millions of Americans are affected, and our national security is endangered. This was entirely avoidable, but Donald Trump refuses to grow up and end his temper tantrum.”
