DNC Hispanic Media Director Enrique Gutiérrez released the following statement on the anniversary of Donald Trump terminating the DACA program and playing politics with the lives of over 700,000 young people:

“Donald Trump promised that he would treat our Dreamers ‘with heart.’ Instead, he’s steamrolled DACA recipients with his hateful anti-immigrant agenda, and congressional Republicans have blocked legislation that would protect Dreamers. The DNC is proud to stand side by side with the immigrant youth, allies, and activists who refuse to give up and continue to hold the Trump administration and Republicans accountable. It’s time we give these hardworking young people the respect they deserve, and provide a bipartisan solution to allow them to continue contributing to the only country they’ve known and loved.”
