DNC on Arab American Heritage Month
April 1, 2021
To commemorate Arab American Heritage Month, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Ethinc Council Chair Jim Zogby released the following statement:
“This Arab American Heritage Month, we have a great opportunity to continue celebrating the achievements of a vibrant community that boasts roots in 22 nations and embodies diverse cultural and faith traditions.
“Today, there are about 3.7 million Arab Americans living in thriving communities across the United States. Our country is stronger because of the immeasurable contributions Arab Americans have made and continue to make as artists, scientists, educators, government workers, legal professionals, essential workers, and much more.
“As Democrats, we support and stand with the Arab American community. And while we celebrate Arab American Heritage Month, Democrats will continue working every day to protect their civil rights and liberties, fight for equity, and expand opportunity.”
