DNC on Bipartisan Alexander-Murray Cosponsors
October 19, 2017
In response to 24 Senate cosponsors, including 12 Republicans, joining the bipartisan Alexander-Murray health care agreement, DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson released the following statement:
“It’s clear to Americans that President Trump is playing politics with their health care. Voters have no patience for Republicans who take the side of Donald Trump and his grudge against President Obama over their best interests.
“Republican leaders have a choice: either join the growing support for this bipartisan fix, or own the fact that they will be taking people’s health care away and increasing premiums. They must support this legislation to stem the damage Trump and Republicans have created through months of sabotage and reckless repeal efforts. Momentum is building to pass this legislation and Democrats will keep working in a bipartisan way to strengthen our health care system for all Americans.”
