DNC on Connecticut Primary Elections

DNC Chair Tom Perez issued the following statement on the results of tonight’s Democratic primary races in Connecticut:

“Congratulations to gubernatorial nominee Ned Lamont and all of the Democratic candidates who won today’s primary races in Connecticut, including 5th Congressional District nominee Jahana Hayes. With her historic nomination tonight, Connecticut is on its way to sending its first-ever African American woman to Congress. I know this fantastic slate of Democratic candidates will work tirelessly for the state’s working families, and Connecticut voters know these Democrats have their back and share their values. Connecticut Democrats are ready to organize to keep the governor’s office and the state’s congressional seats blue this November.

“The DNC was proud to invest $50,000 in the Connecticut Democratic Party to help implement a Grassroots Coaching Program, which gives activists, candidates, and party leaders the training they need to run effective campaigns. We look forward to continuing to partner with the Connecticut Democrats to support our candidates up and down the ticket as we march together toward victory in 2018.”
