DNC on Democrats’ Plan for Universal High Speed Internet
September 28, 2017
Congressional Democrats recently released their blueprint for expanding high-speed internet across the country. DNC Chief Technology Officer Raffi Krikorian issued the following statement:
“For millions of Americans, limited access to the internet is also limiting their ability to participate and compete in the 21st century economy. While we’ve successfully connected most of the country, far too many communities, especially those in rural areas, have been left behind with outdated technology, or no internet access at all. It stifles innovation, limits educational opportunities, and holds back entrepreneurs.
“In the 1930s, we made smart public investments in infrastructure to bring electricity to every home in America and it supercharged our economy. Congressional Democrats want to give our economy a jolt again by making equally bold investments in broadband. Together, we can ensure that every farm, school, and neighborhood in America has access to the technology they need to succeed.”
