DNC on DeVos Rescinding Guidance for Disabled Students
October 23, 2017
In response to Betsy DeVos rescinding 72 policy documents outlining rights for students with disabilities, DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson released the following statement:
“Betsy DeVos’ decision to rescind guidelines outlining rights for students with disabilities is shameful and immoral. Instead of protecting students, particularly those who need it the most, Betsy DeVos and President Trump have repeatedly taken actions that would weaken students’ rights and make education less accessible. Students and people with disabilities deserve so much more. That is why Democrats will continue to fight to protect students and create a safe and accessible learning environment no matter their background or ability.”
