DNC on Fourth Anniversary of Deadly White Supremacist Rally in Charlottesville

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement on the fourth anniversary of the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, VA, and the loss of Heather Heyer and Virginia State Troopers Jay Cullen and Berke Bates:

“Four years ago, our country watched in horror as white supremacists marched through the streets of Charlottesville. This anniversary is a sober reminder that the fear, divisions, and bigotry we saw on display then are still alive and require us to stand against them each and every day. Our hearts are with the families of Heather Heyer and Virginia State Troopers Jay Cullen and Berke Bates, who saw their loved ones’ lives cut tragically short.

“President Biden and Democrats are dedicated to the work of restoring the soul of the nation, uniting against hatred and bigotry, and ensuring that we live up to our ideals of dignity, equality, and respect for all.”
