“More than 450,000 Americans have lost their lives during this pandemic. Small businesses have shuttered, hospitals are overwhelmed, and millions of workers are out of a job. In times of crisis, the American people need leaders who will get things done, not waste time and resources playing political games with their lives. And yet, playing games is exactly what Republicans are planning to do today. Instead of working with Democrats to quickly pass the COVID-19 relief package Americans need, Republicans would rather turn the Senate into a circus. The American people deserve better. That’s why they voted out Republican leadership and put Democrats in charge. The vast majority of Americans support passing a strong COVID relief package, and it is time for Republicans to join us in putting the interests of the American people ahead of their own politics.”
