DNC Women’s Media Director Elizabeth Renda released the following statement after Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats reintroduced the Paycheck Fairness Act:

“The DNC is proud to stand with Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats in the fight to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act. While Democratic leaders are working to advance women’s equality and increase wages, Republicans are continuing to block this landmark legislation, just as they have for the past two decades. On average, women working full time make only 80 cents for every dollar a man earns, and the numbers are even worse for women of color. It’s time for Republicans in Congress to stop their obstructionist political games and join Democrats in working to solve our country’s income inequalities by passing the Paycheck Fairness Act.”
