DNC on International Holocaust Remembrance Day

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Interfaith Council Chair Sarah Levin released the following statement on International Holocaust Remembrance Day:

“Today, we honor the six million Jews who alongside millions of others — Roma and Sinti, Slavs, disabled persons, LGBTQ+ individuals and others — were targeted and murdered by the Nazis during the Holocaust. It is the memory of these millions of people that remind us we can never be silent in the face of antisemitism and that we must unite to create a country and a world free of bigotry and hatred.

“In the face of brazen antisemitic attacks and as we continue to support communities in Texas affected by the hostage crisis at Congregation Beth Israel, Democrats know that we must fight hatred and discrimination wherever they appear and put an end to rhetoric that dehumanizes entire communities of people. We must continue to tell the stories of those murdered in the Holocaust so that religious hatred, homophobia, racism, and xenophobia can never find safe harbor in our country. International Holocaust Remembrance Day reminds us we must fight hate wherever it is and protect the human rights of all people.”
