| DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement in response to the June jobs report, which shows that the economy added another 850,000 in June:
“Today’s job report shows that President Biden’s economic plan is working, and is yet another example of the historic progress President Biden and Democrats have made bringing America back from the coronavirus pandemic. Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, job growth continues to accelerate and is exceeding expectations, and economists have now doubled their economic growth predictions for this year, forecasting the fastest rate in nearly three decades. With tens of millions of Americans vaccinated, and more than 3 million jobs created in President Biden’s first five months, Americans can truly celebrate our nation’s comeback this Fourth of July.
“Every day of good news is a reminder that congressional Republicans tried blocking an economic boom in the name of partisan politics, and are openly rooting for the economy to fail. Despite Republicans’ best attempts to obstruct our progress, President Biden and Democrats remain laser focused on delivering for hardworking Americans and their families.”
