DNC on National Voter Registration Day
September 25, 2018
In honor of National Voter Registration Day, DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement:
“This is the most important election in our lifetime, and that’s why Democrats are working nonstop to register voters today and every day through November 6th. Across the country, activists and organizers are joining our fight to flip more seats from red to blue – from the school board to the Senate.
“We’ve already shattered records for turnout in our primaries, which is an exciting sign of what’s to come for our diverse candidates on Election Day. But we can’t leave anything to chance. And this National Voter Registration Day is a great opportunity to connect with friends and family, make sure they’re registered to vote, and do everything we can to make this election one for the history books. Let’s take back our democracy.”
Earlier this year the DNC launched IWillVote, an unprecedented initiative to reach 50 million voters before Election Day. Democrats are harnessing the grassroots energy across the country and are ready to turn that energy into votes at the ballot box. We’re working to empower every eligible voter to make their voice heard. See for yourself:
