DNC on New Jersey Primary Elections

DNC Chair Tom Perez issued the following statement on the results of tonight’s Democratic primary races in New Jersey:

“Congratulations to all of tonight’s Democratic nominees in New Jersey. With the fantastic slate of winners in tonight’s primary races and our historic victories across the state in 2017, we’ve got the wind at our backs in New Jersey for November’s midterm elections, and retiring Republicans like Frank LoBiondo and Rodney Frelinghuysen know it.

“The DNC was proud to invest six figures in the New Jersey Democratic State Committee ahead of the 2017 elections, which helped elect Governor Phil Murphy, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver, and Democrats across the state. We look forward to continuing to partner with the NJDSC to lift candidates to victory up and down the ticket, including tonight’s nominees like Mikie Sherrill, Andy Kim, Tom Malinowski, and Jeff Van Drew, all of whom have a shot at flipping Republican held congressional districts from red to blue. New Jersey voters are hungry for Democratic leadership. They know Democrats have their backs and share their values. And they’re ready to organize to turn more seats blue in November.”
