DNC On November Jobs Report

| DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement in response to the November jobs report: “Today’s jobs report confirms what has long been clear: President Biden’s economic plan is working and getting Americans back to work. For the past 10 months, President Biden has been using every tool at his disposal to get our nation back on track. Now, thanks to President Biden and Democrats’ tireless leadership, our economy is significantly stronger today than it was a year ago. “A record nearly 6 million jobs have been created in President Biden’s first 10 months, wages are up, small businesses are reopening, supply chain issues are easing, and the unemployment rate has plummeted a historic full two percentage points since President Biden took office to 4.2%, while the unemployment rate for Black workers fell from 7.9% to 6.7%. All of this happened because President Biden and Democrats stepped up to the plate, passed the American Rescue Plan, and made sure Americans were vaccinated. “Meanwhile, Republicans have proven yet again this week that they would rather fight amongst themselves and endanger Americans’ health than do anything to help working families. The Democratic Party is the jobs party, and we will not rest until we pass the entirety of President Biden’s economic agenda to continue to build back better and ensure the American people feel this historic recovery in their daily lives.” |
