DNC Chair Tom Perez, DNC Vice Chair Maria Elena Durazo, and DNC Labor Council Chair Stuart Appelbaum released the following statement on Nurse Appreciation Day:

“You don’t need to go to a movie theater to see superheroes in action. Just turn on the news and look at all of the nurses who are on the frontlines of this pandemic. Every day, they put their health and safety on the line to protect us. Every day, they save lives and move us one step closer to overcoming this crisis.

“We owe these heroes not just our admiration and our gratitude, but our commitment to stand by them as they fight for the pay and resources they need. So on behalf of all of us at the DNC, we want to say thank you to our nation’s nurses. Thank you for your courage and compassion, your service and sacrifice.”
