DNC on One Year Anniversary of George Floyd’s Murder

One year ago former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd. In response, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Black Caucus Chair Virgie M. Rollins released the following statement:

“One year ago the world watched as George Floyd was murdered, and today that memory has been seared into our souls and continues to spur the movement for the justice, accountability, and equity Black people deserve. We must not turn away from what we saw – Republicans should join Democrats in sending the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act to President Biden’s desk. Not just in George Floyd’s memory, but also that of Daunte Wright, Breonna Taylor, and the countless others on a list that stretches far too long.”
