DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after defeat of Proposition A:

“Congratulations to working Missourians, the labor movement, the Missouri Democratic Party and the thousands of union members across the state who knocked on doors, made calls, and organized around the clock to defeat this woefully anti-worker initiative. Voters rightfully rejected a shameful attempt by Republicans and powerful corporate interests to hurt working families and weaken unions. The fact that this anti-worker initiative was passed in the first place is yet another example of how Republican interests don’t align with those of the middle class. Time and again, Republicans have shown that they care more about helping their rich donors and big corporations than working families. Democrats know that when unions succeed, America succeeds, and we are proud to stand with workers fighting for the jobs and wages they deserve.”
