DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement after a report that Donald Trump called fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers,” and asked for wounded veterans to be excluded from military parades:

“This president has no honor or shame. Generations of brave Americans have sacrificed life and limb in defense of our freedoms. At home and abroad, they stand for American values of liberty, justice, and equality for all people. And even after they’ve hung up their fatigues for good, they continue to exemplify leadership in their communities every day. Their wounds do not make them ‘losers.’ Their deaths do not make them ‘suckers.’ They are heroes of the highest order, and they deserve a president who respects their courage. If these reports are true, they represent yet another betrayal of our troops by Donald Trump, and yet another reason why we must send Joe Biden and Kamala Harris to the White House.”
