DNC on Scott Pruitt Defending Polluters as ‘Stakeholders’
October 20, 2017
In response to Scott Pruitt defending his meetings with oil and coal companies, while he met with environmental groups less than 1% of the time, DNC spokesperson Daniel Wessel released the following statement:
“Scott Pruitt has repeatedly met with oil and coal companies, and then made decisions that would benefit them, while hurting our environment and putting American lives at risk. Now he has the nerve to defend these groups as ‘stakeholders,’ not ‘polluters.’ At every turn, this administration has proven to be rife with corruption and beholden to special interests.
“While the Trump administration puts corporate interests over the interests of the American people, Democrats will continue to fight to protect the environment and promote sustainability to ensure the health and safety of future generations.”
