In response to Tennessee Republicans stripping elected Democratic members of their committee assignments and threatening to expel them from office, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement:

“In the wake of a tragic mass shooting in their own state, Tennessee Republicans have not only refused to take action, but they have gone so far as to move to silence duly-elected Democrats for listening to their constituents and working to keep their communities safe. These extreme Republicans have made clear they care more about protecting the gun lobby than they do about our children or our democracy. Tennessee deserves so much better.”
