DNC on the 10th Anniversary of DACA

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement on the 10th anniversary of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program being announced:

10 years ago, the DACA program made it possible for Dreamers to finally come out of the shadows and to continue thriving without fear. These Dreamers came to this country as children — for many, the United States is the only home they know. They are entrepreneurs, pillars of their communities, and many — during the hardest months of the pandemic — were courageous frontline workers.

Their contributions to this nation are undeniable and they do not deserve to live in uncertainty. Democrats are proud of the Biden administration’s commitment to preserve and fortify DACA. Democrats will continue to fight for vital protections and a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients.
