DNC on the 60th Anniversary of the March on Washington

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison released the following statement commemorating the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington

“Sixty years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and nearly a quarter million activists locked arms to lay out a dream for an America where everyone, regardless of their race, could prosper without the threat of discrimination. As we continue the fight for freedom, the anniversary of the March on Washington remains a reminder of how far our nation has come and of the work that still needs to be done so that, in Dr. King’s words, our nation can rise up and let freedom ring.

“Today, as extremists attack our hard-won freedoms like our right to vote, our right to reproductive care, and the right to teach and learn our full history – we draw upon Dr. King’s words and double down on our fight for freedom, justice, and equality for all.”
