DNC on the PACT Act Anniversary

DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC Veterans and Military Families Council Chairs Terron Sims II and Jan Donatelli released the following statement to recognize the anniversary of the signing of the PACT Act:

“One year ago today, President Biden delivered on his promise to strengthen health care and benefits for America’s veterans by signing the PACT Act into law, which addresses toxic exposures during military deployments that have impacted veterans and provides veterans and their families with the comprehensive medical services they deserve. This historic bill was the most significant expansion of VA healthcare and benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits in decades, made possible by President Biden’s leadership and commitment to reaching across the aisle to deliver for our country’s veterans.

“President Biden believes that our nation has a sacred duty to not only prepare and equip our troops for battle, but to also provide them and their families with the resources they need once they return home. The PACT Act delivers on this obligation by expanding access to VA health care services for veterans and delivering critical resources to help ensure the VA can deliver timely access to services and benefits for all eligible veterans – including those already enrolled.

“As we celebrate the first anniversary of the PACT Act, we thank our veterans and military families for their unending sacrifices to our country. President Biden and Democrats remain committed to delivering results for America’s veterans and their families .”
