“I am devastated to learn of the passing of Secretary Colin Powell. He was a true statesman who always put his country and family first, even in the most difficult times. As a young Black man, I was inspired by Secretary Powell, who showed there is no limit to what we can be or achieve. 

“Secretary Powell, and the leadership, courage, and deep respect for our nation he carried with him every day, will be greatly missed. I’m extending my deepest condolences to the Powell family today as we mourn the passing of a trailblazing, truly great American.
