In response to reports that Trump overruled the recommendation of  intelligence officials to give his son-in-law a top secret clearance, DNC Deputy Trump War Room Director Daniel Wessel released the following statement:

“Nepotism aside, Trump created an unacceptable threat to our national security by giving ongoing access to our nation’s most secret information to someone who was deemed by career intelligence officials unfit to have received it. He then lied about it to the American people. Trump has once again demonstrated that he only cares about himself and cannot be trusted to keep us safe.”
