In response to Trump’s Department of Homeland Security downsizing two task forces assembled to secure our elections and fight foreign election interference, DNC Chief Security Officer Bob Lord released the following statement:

“Trustworthy elections are the foundation for our democracy. Citizens need to know that their votes count, and that they are counted correctly. Despite the ongoing threats stemming from faulty and questionable voting machines and disinformation attacks from foreign governments, we are now learning that two DHS election security teams are being downsized. Instead of taking resources away from election security, the Trump administration must show that they are serious about protecting our national security and holding our adversaries accountable, before it’s too late.”
