DNC Deputy Communications Director Adrienne Watson released the following statement on President Trump’s plan to privatize the United States Air Traffic Control System:

“By privatizing our nation’s air traffic control system, Trump is once again putting the interests and the pocketbooks of airline executives before the safety and wellbeing of American workers and passengers. Americans, especially in rural communities, have no guarantees that their interests will be served.

“This privatization plan comes on the heels of a budget proposal that cuts transportation spending by $16 billion dollars and threatens numerous critical infrastructure programs that improve the lives of American families. We need real investments in infrastructure that create jobs, grow the economy and put American workers first, not corporate interests.”
