DNC Chair Tom Perez released the following statement in response to an account by Trump’s former national security advisor of Trump’s negotiations with China:

“Trump’s ego is undermining our economy, our public health, and our national security. In his thoughtless negotiations with China, Trump’s trade policy was described as utterly incoherent. But he did manage to sign off on Chinese concentration camps and even offered to serve another term as president, if it meant making China happy. This is an outrageous abuse of power and yet another example of how Trump is selling out on China. Trump begged the Chinese president for help, showing once again just how weak and feckless he is behind closed doors.

“The American people are sick and tired of the chaos, incompetence, and selfishness of this administration. They deserve a president with honor and integrity. They deserve a president who stands up to China and gets results out of negotiations. They deserve Joe Biden.”
