DNC on Val Hoyle’s Election as Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor & Industries

After Val Hoyle's election as Oregon's next Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor & Industries, DNC Spokesperson Vedant Patel released the following statement:

“As a former state representative and Democratic House Majority Leader, Val Hoyle worked to pass one of the most progressive legislative agendas in Oregon's history. She fought hard for critical issues like raising the minimum wage and requiring employers to provide paid sick leave. As a former waitress with deep union roots, Val understands the support businesses and hardworking families need in Oregon. Val has the skills and experience necessary to stand up for Oregon's working families. We congratulate Val on her election as Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor & Industries and look forward to working with her and Democrats all over Oregon to fight for workers all over the state.”
