DNC Responds to Trump-Driven Insurance Rate Hikes in New Jersey
October 18, 2017
According to the Asbury Park Press, two New Jersey insurers are raising premiums by at least 16 percent for the individual market due to Trump’s actions to weaken the Affordable Care Act. DNC northeast press secretary Elizabeth Renda issued the following statement in response:
“If there’s one thing Donald Trump has succeeded at since taking office, it’s inflicting chaos on the American health care market. This is sabotage, plain and simple, and New Jereseyans are already suffering because of it. New Jersey families should not have to pay the price for Trump’s sick, personal vendetta against President Obama and the Affordable Care Act. It’s time for this president to stop playing games with American lives and start working across the aisle on a long-term solution to actually strengthen our health care system, not destroy it.”
