In response to President Trump’s tweet lauding the rollback of the Wall Street reforms and consumer protections under Dodd-Frank, DNC deputy communications director Adrienne Watson released the following statement:

“We know Trump’s greed has no limits, but it is really sick to hear him celebrate the rollback of commonsense reforms to keep Americans from suffering another economic crisis. He is cheering a bill that would effectively take the financial industry back to 2008. It brings to mind when Trump rooted for the housing market crash so he could profit from it.  Dodd-Frank protects working Americans from the greed of Wall Street and we will fight Trump tooth and nail to protect it.”
