WASHINGTON – DNC Interim Chair Donna Brazile issued the following statement:
 
“If Rep. Mulvaney hadn’t already disqualified himself for this job with more than $15,000 in unpaid taxes, his disdain for ordinary Americans and the men and women serving in our military certainly does. He wants to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, and he played chicken with American jobs when he brought our government to the brink of a shutdown in 2015, even though he knew the last Republican-led shutdown cost our economy $24 billion. And when residents along the East Coast were rebuilding in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, Mulvaney didn’t just vote against a relief package, he introduced a ‘poison pill’ amendment to kill it altogether.
 
“Donald Trump just got another alligator for his swamp, and this one is willing to gamble with our economy.”
