As Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists from the South Asian diaspora around the world celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights, DNC Chair Jaime Harrison and DNC AAPI Caucus Chair Bel Leong-Hong released the following joint statement:

“During the dazzling festival of lights of Diwali we are reminded that light triumphs over darkness and unity triumphs over division. We also recognize that even in times of darkness and difficulty, there will always be hope and light on our journey. Democrats hold these values dear as a party and tonight we wish all those celebrating a happy Diwali.”
